Transcript

Here are five features near Salinas on the San Francisco sectional. Salinas Municipal is blue, so it has a tower. Magenta airports, like Marina, do not. The star means the tower is part-time. The C means its frequency is also the CTAF. RP 8, 31 means right traffic on those runways. The blue dashed ring is Class D. Minus 25 means surface up to, but not including, 2,500 MSL.

Monterey Class C is solid magenta. Each shelf reads ceiling over floor. The ceiling is 4,200 MSL. The floors are the surface, 1,500, and 2,500. These stacks reach 533 MSL, and 500 feet above ground level. The big 3 9 is the maximum elevation figure, 3,900 MSL. The Salinas VORTAC is on 117.3. Its compass rose points to magnetic north.
