Transcript

Before you descend to land, look at the diagram. Find your exit and your way back to the ramp. Say you land on Runway 31. Exit at the first taxiway you can use, or where the tower tells you. Do not turn onto another runway, such as Runway 8-26, unless the tower tells you to.

In this example, you turn left onto taxiway Bravo. Taxi until the whole airplane is past the hold line on Bravo. Then stop. When the tower tells you, change to ground on 121.7. Say who you are, where you are, and that you want to taxi to the North Aero ramp.

From Bravo, turn right onto Alfa. Alfa crosses Runway 8-26 on the way. A taxi clearance to the ramp does not let you cross a runway. Ground must clear you to cross. Say ground tells you to hold short of Runway 8-26. Stop at the hold line on Alfa.

Read it back, as the AIM example does: your call sign, then hold short of Runway 8-26. Cross only when ground clears you to cross, and read that back too. Then turn left onto Charlie and follow it west. The North Aero ramp is on your right, where Lima meets Charlie.

Next, taxiing at an airport you do not know, with a hot spot.

Before you fly, check the current airport diagram, the Chart Supplement and NOTAMs.
